Verna L. Sanchez, 85, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

Verna was born March 1, 1927 in Gordon, Nebraska to Trudell A. Prue and Marie Boyer.

She married Paul R. Sanchez August 15, 1942 in Harrisburg, Nebraska.

Verna was a devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, collecting porcelain dolls, and going to garage sales.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Mary Beth) Sanchez of Brule, NE, Louis (Verna) Sanchez of Alliance, Arthur (Priscilla) Sanchez of Carson, CA, Manuel (Tina) Sanchez of Alliance, Joe (Angie) Sanchez of Sacramento, CA, Yvonne (Mark) Robertson of Alliance, Maria Nelle of Fort Dodge, IA and Lisa (Bruce) Kittelmann of Alliance. She is also survived by her 30 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren; her sister, Pearl Boyer of Alliance; her brother, Virgil (Christine) Prue of Omaha; her daughter-in-law, Mary (Dave) Bogner of Alliance; and her "special son", Victor Sanchez of Alliance. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years Paul, sons Michael and Angelo Sanchez, and her brother Stewart W. Prue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Lou Nollette officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Wake services will be held Thursday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-5 p.m.
