Biography

Maxine Kohrman, 93, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.

Mable Maxine Langford was born at Alliance on May 25, 1918 to Lloyd and Martha Mae (Morgan) Langford. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1938.

She married Arnold Kohrman on October 18, 1942 in Alliance. To this union two daughters were born, June and Joan.

Maxine worked for Live Wire Transfer and Alliance Hotel during the Alliance Air Base days. Following her marriage she lived on the family farm where she lived until 2005 before moving into Alliance. She enjoyed the outdoors, county music, art and volunteering at Good Samaritan in Alliance.

She is survived by her daughters, June and husband Jerry Rogers of Kearney and Joan Ward of Oberlin, KS; her 3 half-brothers, Charles Langford of Clarkston, WA, Richard Langford of Washington, and Leonard Beckenbach of Lincoln; and her half-sister, Agnes Nelson of Provo, UT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alan Ward, Phillip Ward, Chris Ward, Greg Rogers and Brenda (John) Hazen, her three great-grandchildren, Johnny, Tami and Jamie Hazen and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents, her husband in 1984, her son-in-law, Raymond Ward, brother, Glen Langford, step-brothers, Herman and Lawrence Langford and Freddy Beckenbach and step-sister, LaVern Myers.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance with Pastor Steve Meysing officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donorís choice.
